Herbert Kinney-About Me
In 2016, I was invited to join the J. Andrew Morrow Elementary School team to teach Kindergarten and I have enjoyed getting to know the community here in Towanda (I grew up in Chemung County, NY).
I received my first Bachelors Degree in Music at St. Lawrence University and went on for my Masters Degree in Music Education from Mansfield University. It was then a blessing to teach music for 9 years in NY, where I worked with every age from Pre-K to seniors on a daily basis.
In 2014, I returned to Mansfield University and earned my second Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and quickly found the next chapter in my teaching career here in Towanda. I am Pennsylvania certified in Elementary Education (PreK-4) and Music Education K-12.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, playing guitar, studying the Spanish language, athletics, gardening, and spending time with my family (fishing, soccer, board games, reading, ...).
I am happy to be in this exciting realm called Kindergarten, a good fit for my high level of energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is thrilling to teach in a place where I can have such a real impact for positively launching students' academic careers.
