Based on the Department of Education’s School Closure Matrix, the Towanda Area Elementary school will need to close temporarily. TAES currently has 2 positive cases that count towards the 14-day rolling period of the matrix, which necessitates a temporary transition to remote learning. The goal is for students in this building to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 19.
At this point, J. Andrew Morrow and the Jr/Sr High School are not impacted. Those two buildings will remain open for in-person instruction.
