COVID Update 3/25/2021
The intent of this communication is to notify our school community of recent Covid-19 situations involving students and staff within the district.
On March 25, 2021, we were notified that a total of seven students and staff within the district have tested positive for COVID-19. Three students and one staff member were at the Jr/Sr High School. One student was from the Towanda Area Elementary School, with one student and one staff member from J. Andrew Morrow Primary School. Potential close contacts have been identified and informed to not return to school until approved to do so based on CDC and DOH quarantine guidelines.
Currently our case count is as follows: Jr/Sr High School (12), Towanda Elementary School (2), J. Andrew Morrow (3).
Based on the Department of Education’s School Closure Matrix, all three schools within the district will move to virtual instruction through March 31, 2021. All students should log into their schoology accounts every day to find Zoom links for their classes. If you have any questions or issues, please contact your school.
At this time, all extracurricular activities remain paused. We will continue to reevaluate the situation with outdoor activities and adjust if possible.
As a community, the key to our success is to continue working together as we strive to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy. Thank you again for working collaboratively with the district as we navigate through this public health crisis together. Stay safe and stay healthy.
