Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Information (COPPA)
In 1998, Congress enacted the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and requires the Federal Trade Commission to issue and enforce regulations concerning children's online privacy. The primary goal of COPPA is to place parents in control over what information is collected from their young children online and was designed to protect children under age 13 while accounting for the dynamic nature of the Internet.
For parents/guardians of children under the age of 13, the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires that you agree to the Opt-in form that was sent home with your student at the start of the school year to allow your student access to online educational services.
