Our Classroom

Check back for picture updates as Mrs. Maurer gets into her classroom and begins preparing for the upcoming school year. I can't wait to share the final product with all of you!

What can I expect?

Mrs. Maurer's classroom has lots of special spaces for students to have fun while learning at school. For example, students have their own special classroom library in one of the back corners of our classroom. It also has some comfortable seating for students to use as they read a good book! Another exciting space is our Number Corner in the back of the classroom. This will be an important learning space that we use daily during math time. Our classroom will also have closets for students to store their personal belongings. Typically, student desks will be organized in groups of four to encourage collaborative and cooperative learning. You will also see a large kidney-shaped table in the classroom where many students will work in small groups with Mrs. Maurer throughout the school year. There is a Promethean Board at the front of the classroom that Mrs. Maurer and her students will use every day, and we also have a big whiteboard to write on as we learn, too! You will also see multiple "Focus Boards" around the room that keep everyone updated on what we are currently learning in each subject area. There will be a laptop cart in our classroom, and each student will be assigned their very own laptop to use for the entire school year. These are some of the many spaces and things that we will use to learn and grow this year. I cannot wait to share all of them with you!
