Bullying Prevention

Bullying Prevention Bullying is a problem affecting kids across the commonwealth, but sometimes the signs may be hard to recognize. Nationally, 28 percent of students in grades 6 to 12 are victims of bullying; and many affected students and their loved ones may not know where to turn for help.

To help these students and their families, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has teamed up with the Highmark Foundation and the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention to present the Bullying Consultation Helpline. The helpline is a toll-free number that allows individuals to discuss strategies with trained individuals and get the help they need to address bullying in school.  The helpline is a free resource available to students, parents, guardians and school districts across Pennsylvania.

If you or someone you care about is experiencing unwanted negative attention at school, please view the additional resources in the sidebar of this page or call the helpline at 1-866-716-0424. Messages can be left 24 hour a day, seven days a week, and will be returned Monday-Friday during normal business hours.
