Today's Activities: We spent the period reading the rest of chapter 8 of The Great Gatsby. We had just finished the last paragraph when the afternoon announcements started.
Tomorrow's Class: We will go over the chapter 8 discussion questions before reading as much of chapter 9 as possible.

Bell Ringer: Homework Check - Handouts 15 & 16
Today's Activities: After our homework check, we went over Handouts 15 & 16 for participation points. This discussion took up the whole class period in period 7 and most of the class period in period 9. We didn't get a chance to start reading chapter 8 in period 7, but we did start it in period 9.
Monday's Class: We will start/finish reading chapter 8 of The Great Gatsby before completing the chapter 8 discussion questions.

Today's Activities: After our going over these questions, we took some notes on story structure. Afterwards, the class got into partners and completed Handouts 15 & 16.

Today's Activities: After our summary, we continued reading chapter 7 of The Great Gatsby. We finished the chapter a few minutes before the bell rang, and students spent that time working on the chapter 7 discussion questions.
Tomorrow's Class: We will go over the chapter 7 discussion questions for participation points before we take some notes and read chapter 8.
