Hat Day & Dress Down Day for CHOP

Towanda Area School District schools hosted a Hat Day with proceeds benefitting CHOP (Childhood Hunger Outreach Program), which serves our students with the in school pantry and backpack programs. JAM Primary raised $115, Towanda Elementary raised $152.21 and the Towanda Jr. Sr. HS raised $129 for a total of $396.21. In addition to the hat day, Towanda Area School District employees held a dress down day with proceeds benefitting CHOP which raised an additional $357.00. Between the 2 fundraisers, the total proceeds are $753.21.

Towanda Jr/Sr High School's Governor's STEM Team

Towanda Jr/Sr High School's Governor's STEM team placed first at a local competition with their project, the "Snow Buggy", a robotic snow plowing machine. The team will be competing in the state competition in Harrisburg in May. Team members Hannah Ryck, Kaigan Stroop, Noah Poll, and John Schoonover.

NHS Volunteers for the Salvation Army

The Towanda Chapter of the National Honor Society got in the holiday spirit this year by helping the Salvation Army. Students could be seen bell ringing at Hurley’s Super Market and helping to sort, package and hand out gifts for their Angel Tree Program. The Towanda Chapter tries to do this every year spreading the holiday spirit and joy throughout the community.

Senior Play

Towanda Jr/Sr High School Class of 2020 (and a few friends) will be presenting the annual class play fundraiser on Thursday, November 21st, Friday, November 22nd, and Saturday, November 23rd at 7:00 P.M. at the high school auditorium. This year's production is "Gone With The Breeze" by Tim Kelly with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service.
