Today's Class: We started today's class with a homework check (Crash Course Graphic Organizer, posted yesterday). After discussing this graphic organizer for participation points, we read the short biography of Benjamin Franklin on pg. 184 of our text book and Franklin's "Speech in the Convention" on pg. 191 in our text book.
Tomorrow's Class: We will go over section 1 in the Franklin Activity (posted below) before moving on to sections 2, 3, & 4.
Homework: Complete section 1 of the Franklin Activity.

Today's Class: We finished discussing our vocabulary for this lesson (persuasive appeals, rhetorical devices, bias) and then we completed the Analyzing Commercial Example Activity in today's PowerPoint (slide 9). After our discussion of this activity, we started reading and discussing Patrick Henry's short biography on pg. 184 when the bell rang.
Tomorrow's Class: We will read Patrick Henry's "Speech in the Virginia Convention" and start the accompanying analysis activity.
