PSSA and Keystone Testing Tips

With the PSSAs and Keystones coming up soon, (see dates below) we wanted to share some test-taking tips for our families on how students can do their best and limit stress.
It is important for your child to stay relaxed on the test day. Show your child that you are already proud of his/her work as a student. Tell them how smart you know he/she is. This will help build your child’s confidence.

Leadership Committee Delivers Backpacks

On Thursday, April 4th, the Fifth and Sixth Grade Principal’s Leadership Committee helped pick up and deliver backpacks for the CHOP backpack program. Students did an amazing job helping with the deliveries. We thank these young Black Knights for their help.

700 Club Inductees

Mrs. Rebecca Stanfield, Principal of Towanda Junior/Senior High School, has announced that Chase Dibble, Noah Poll, and Seth Porter have been named to the district’s “700 Club”. This club is designed to recognize students who score a 700 or more (out of 800) on at least one section of a College Board SAT test. This is a feat that only about five percent of the nation’s students attain. The average score on the SAT is about 500 per section (reading, math, and writing). Chase Dibble scored above 700 in the Math section, and Noah and Seth scored above 700 in the Reading/Writing section.

Fourth-Grade Backpack Delivery

Fourth-grade students that are part of the Principal’s Leadership Committee at the Towanda Area Elementary School helped to pick up and deliver food today for the backpack program. These hard-working students picked up food from the CHOP pantry and then delivered bags to all 3 district buildings. We proudly say, “THANK YOU” to these Black Knights for their hard work and help with this program.
