Today in English III, we finished working on our Examining Structure activity and discussed it as a class.  Some classes used the entire period to get this done (periods 3 & 9).

After collecting the Examining Structure activity, we moved on to a short writing assignment called Sympathy in Tragedy (full description in today's PowerPoint).  I gave students 10 minutes to complete the writing and then we discussed it as a class.  Periods 1, 2, 3, & 7 completed this and handed it in.

Tomorrow we will be moving on to our Death of a Salesman open-ended response.  We will use the whole period to write this piece.

Today in English III, we started our class by getting back into our partnerships from last Tuesday and continuing our "Examining Structure" Activity (see PowerPoint for full assignment). 

I gave each class about 15 minutes to complete the activity, after which we went over the answers. The classes that did not finish will start with this discussion tomorrow (periods 7 & 9).  We will also be reviewing Sympathy in Tragedy in order to do a little writing.

Today my English III classes were in several different places.  Our goals for the day were to: finish reading/watching/discussing Section 5 of Death of a Salesman, start our Examining the Structure Activity (see assignment slides in PowerPoint), and to discuss our Examining the Structure Activity.

Here's were each class left off:

• Pd. 1: We finished watching/discussing Section 5.  We will start the Examining the Structure Activity tomorrow.
• Pd. 2: We finished watching/discussing Section 5.  We will start the Examining the Structure Activity tomorrow.
• Pd. 3: We stopped reading Section 5 at the Requiem on pg. 137.  We will finish reading, discuss our summary, and begin watching the last Section tomorrow.
• Pd. 4: We finished our discussion of Section 5 and started the Examining the Structure Activity.  We will continue working and start our discussion of that activity tomorrow.
• Pd. 7: We started the Examining the Structure Activity.  We will finish working and start our discussion of that activity tomorrow.
• Pd. 9: We discussed the Section 5 summary and started the Examining the Structure Activity.  We will continue working and start our discussion of that activity tomorrow.

We're coming into the home-stretch for Death of a Salesman.  When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will focus on preparing for our DoaS test.

Today in English III we did our best to finish the last section of Death of a Salesman (pg. 122-139).  Here's a run-down of where we left off.

• Pd. 1: We finished reading and will finish watching the movie on Monday.
• Pd. 2: We finished reading and will begin watching Section of the movie on Monday
• Pd. 3: We finished watching and discussing Section 4 and will begin reading Section 5 on Monday.
• Pd. 4: We finished reading and watching.  We will be discussing Section 5 of our summary on Monday (when I will collect it)
• Pd. 7: We finished reading, watching, and discussing Section 5 (I collected their summaries)
• Pd. 9: We finished reading and watching.  We will be discussing Section 5 of our summary on Monday (when I will collect it).

Please make sure your summary is finished and ready to hand in as soon as we finish discussing Section 5.  We will be moving on to discuss Structure (especially Willy's flashbacks) on Monday.

Today in English III we continued reading Section 5 (pg. 122-139) of Death of a Salesman.  Here is a brief run-down of where we left off.

• Pd. 3: We are still watching Section 4 (pg. 95-122)
